This CD is designed specifically as a tool for assisting interpreters and students of interpreting to gain competence in interpreting from ASL to English. Containing 11 ASL texts (ranging in length from just under a minute to about four minutes), they are presented in a unique way to facilitate consecutive interpreting practice. Each text is first presented in its entirety. On subsequent pages, a section of the text is displayed and then freezes on the screen at the end of a "chunk" of information--allowing the user to take a turn as interpreter. In other words, you can focus on interpreting without worrying about the technical part of how to stop the video at the right place. After going through all the sections, the complete text is shown once again...this time with a link to an English summary of the text for support.
